Something, anything, to take you away from this moment with myself. From here until there, already dreaming, images fluttering until snapped back to present mind. I'm scared to go here, see who I have become, because we know I must be missing something. We as cosmic particles happened to be awakened, winked in on the upswing of the entangled mine.

But while the world turns to “mindfulness” in pure self-centered interest for higher productivity, is not mindlessness the ultimate state of death-not-death, existing here and now but beyond anywhere? It's not the mind we're missing, it's the now, without anything else.

We've got the mindlessness down pat, the we, the us, so scattered that to coalesce a mind is a minefield search for needled imprints left radiated outward from a ground zero beginning we can never return to, only way is expansion out to nothing. TV, phone, multiple apps shuttled between for status updates of people never known until we've ogled their uncultivated data impressions, music on, car plane train Wi-Fi superconnected so impulses are on constant drip news feeds sustained by friends who only care for us when we force them to look away from our own image and confront yourselves with now.

Maybe, you think, there's something new that's since been posted that will save me from this, myself, here, none of us.

The great lie is that life is meant to amuse us, entertain us, comfort us, perhaps this conceit enforced upon us from the very minute our goggly baby eyes beheld moving shapes swinging above our faces, stimulating froggy dendrites into neural explosions of delight and wonder. The game that is our endless attempt to prevent ourselves from death. We cried a lot at the beginning. Powering up is painful until you get to that point wherein you coast on mediocrity and inconsequential breathing and you can't remember what it was to be frightened of every single moment

until you pick up the virtual pen and stare at a screen backlit into eternity from which you look forward into all the world sitting enthroned in the dull glare of a fading majesty, us, here, myself, nothing, everything, now.
